Lowen to speak during League of Women Voter’s meeting

Current, former and prospective members, as well as other interested persons, are invited to join the League of Women Voters of Hawaii County to learn more about the priorities of the 30th session of the state Legislature by listening to guest speaker Nicole Lowen, state representative for House District 6 (which includes Kailua-Kona and Holualoa).

The LWV meeting will be held Saturday, April 6, at the St. James Episcopal Church, 65-1237 Kawaihae Road, Waimea.

The LWV meeting starts with registration at 9:30 a.m., with a welcome and call to order for the business meeting and program planning session at 10 a.m. The talk by Lowen, will start promptly at 11 a.m. Lunch ($10 payable at the door) and a board meeting follow her talk.

Lowen currently serves as chair of the House Committee on Energy and Environmental Protection, and she also is a member of the House Judiciary Committee and the Water, Land and Hawaiian Affairs Committee.
